The Colorado Eagle

The Colorado Eagle was a named streamlined passenger train operated jointly by the Missouri Pacific Railroad and the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railway. Inaugurated in 1942, the train traveled nearly 1,021 miles from St. Louis, Missouri, to Denver, Colorado over the Rio Grande-Santa Fe joint line from Pueblo, Colorado and on north to Denver. The train made connections to Kansas City, Missouri at the Paola, Kansas Frisco Station. It was one of only a few streamliners introduced during the war.  Planetarium Dome Coaches and Vista Dome Coaches were eventually added to the consists.
